Scholarship

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. strives to remove barriers that may prevent hard-working and underserved students from achieving their dreams of pursuing higher education by providing scholarships, leadership development and community enhancement programs. 

 

Nu Pi Sigma awards two scholarships to students seeking degrees from a college or university, the Betty Woods Memorial Scholarship and Nu Pi Sigma Alumnae Scholarship. 

 

 Applications for Nu Pi Sigma's scholarships are accepted February 9, 2026 through April 18, 2026. To apply for one of the scholarships awarded by the Nu Pi Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., completed applications must be received by 11:59 PM CST on April 18, 2026. 

Essay Topic:

Scholarship is more than academic achievement; it is a tool for change. Describe a specific instance where you used something you learned in the classroom to address a real-world problem or fulfill a need within your commmunity. What was the outcome, and how did it change your perspective on the value of your education?

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a graduating high school senior in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex (Copy of transcript must be provided)

  • Have been accepted for admission to an accredited college/university, community college, or trade school (Acceptance Letter must be provided)

  • Provide one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or community leader.

The Nu Pi Sigma Chapter will be awarding two $500 scholarships to high school seniors looking to further their education.
